Dave’s correct, and to carry it further you could apply the same principals to recorded music or even video for that matter. You’re getting the final product. You don’t see the process, the demo tracks, the flubs, who’s playing tonsil hockey with the lead singer’s unit as he’s cutting the vocals and everything else that goes into making a CD (I bet it will be a while before you get that mental picture out of your head). You can try to figure out how it was put together, but whether or not the artist decides to give you any insight into that creative process is his or her decision.
