“Quote Me!” macro? I posted this idea on the RU discussion group. When you see a weblog post that you want to quote, you can simply click on the “quote me!” link after the post, and it takes you to your own RU desktop, with the text of that story (links, graphic links and all), placed in the text area for you to edit and comment on before posting to your own weblog. Just one more way to make blogging a bit easier, perhaps? Greg is not too fond of the idea, and offers an alternative. Hmm. Yes it is…

I just saw my first Hawai’i CD adorned with a sticker that said “Will not play on PC/Mac.” Of course I did not buy it, and would encourage others to boycott it as well. Fortunately it was one of those compilations that I abhor, and contained nothing that I would have wanted anyway. Wake up guys. Once a single person figures out how to crack these encryption schemes the songs will be up on Morpheus and whatever Napster replacements are out there, so all you are doing is pissing off people like me who do buy CDs and like to…

We picked up a DVD player recently, and it contained a free trial for Netflix, so we decided to give it a shot. Three weeks have passed and I still can’t figure out if I like it or not. You make a list of your 10 most wanted DVDs, and they send whatever DVD is available from the top of your list. They seem to be pretty quick with getting the new releases, but the cycle takes getting used to. They advertise “All all the videos you want for $19.95 a month.” Well, you can have three videos out at…

This past Sunday, St. Patrick’s day, marked the start of the three month countdown for our trip to Ireland. How appropriate. I’m thinking of using RA as the journal of our trip. Things have been so busy around here I really haven’t been able to much thought into it. What do you do when you have one of the world’s coolest technologies at your fingertips, and no time do do anything with it? I’m off to Monterey for a language conference tomorrow.

After reading Dave’s piece on the “Google-It!” macro, I had an idea for a cool Google service. How about a web service that allowed someone to submit a URL and some search terms, and get the rank of that URL based on those terms? For example: http://www.google.com/rank?q=Weblog&url=http://www.scripting.com Would return a number, it’s value being the current rank of that URL based on a Google search for Weblog. It would be a boon for those obsessed with or merely curious about their rank of the Google ladder. The tie-in to Radio and Manila is that you could write a macro that…
