I’ve been watching the NBA for thirty years, and a Lakers fan since they got Kareem in the late 70s. If I was coaching an NBA team and could pick any player who ever lived to take a game winning (or losing) shot, it wouldn’t be Jerry West, Kareem, Michael, Magic or Larry. It would be Robert Horry. The look on his face when he takes the kinds of shots like the one that sent the Trailblazers home whimpering again would make you think he could care less if he made or missed them. No fear, no determined look, just kind of a tranquil expression on his face. And that is probably why he always seems to make them when they mean the most.
