Dishing It Out!

I was so stoked this past weekend to find that DishNetwork has added Honolulu’s local network affiliates to their programming packages, particularly with the election season kicking into high gear. We have no cable in our neighborhood and the quality of the broadcast stations in our area sucks. Thanks, Charlie!

Dave pointed to a story on the New York Times website about the fight between Sharman Networks, the creators of Kazaa, and programmers who created Kazaa Lite, which allows users to share files on the Kazaa network without seeing the ads that Sharman Networks inserts to generate income. I tried to get an AIM (AOL Instant Messaging) account today using my name (keoladonaghy) as a screen name. Much to my surprise I found that that screen name had already been registered by someone. I find it difficult to believe that there is another Keola Donaghy out there, so if you have ever gotten Instant Messages from someone using my name, let me know. It wasn’t me.

“Quote Me!” macro? I posted this idea on the RU discussion group. When you see a weblog post that you want to quote, you can simply click on the “quote me!” link after the post, and it takes you to your own RU desktop, with the text of that story (links, graphic links and all), placed in the text area for you to edit and comment on before posting to your own weblog.
